In the 29th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Sammy Godts. Suikerklontjes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Ecuador's Luis Andino got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Herald Van de Goor's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Herald Van de Goor helped the player get up and apologised. In the 41st minute, Herald Van de Goor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Suikerklontjes getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Josef Rits hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Bryan Van Deuren charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 95th minute. A nice corner shot did that Cristian Sancho got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sammy Godts quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.
