Emanuele Fioriti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Seco in the 8th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Edgard Bermudo took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Joaquin Gayoso to make any attempt to save it. In the 16th minute of the match, Kenneth Kamel got a very nice opportunity to score, but Joaquin Gayoso was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francisco Seco to make the kick off. After 52 played minutes FK Ekebo got a freekick which was hit by Tim Ståhlberg. The supporters of FK Ekebo booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Covarrubias didn't get a good kick on the ball.
