Spectators: 47 (Terracing: 36, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Marco Day came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Laércio Penha. But to his dismay, Laércio Penha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. With an all-out effort, USA's Mickaël Maris threw himself towards the right post 12 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Monty Rogers, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 17th minute, Laércio Penha made a precise shot to the right of Marco Day. USA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Marco Day showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laércio Penha in the 28th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassius Byrne in the 29th minute of play forced Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Mickaël Maris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jacob May hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrézinho Vaz in the 34th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cassius Byrne got free with Mickaël Maris in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Mickaël Maris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monty Rogers in the 40th minute of play. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laércio Penha in the 42nd minute of play. After 47 played minutes USA got a freekick which was hit by Koby Fletcher. It was beautiful to see Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Luiz Fábio de Medeiros in action when he in the 48th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance!

52 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Laércio Penha came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mickaël Maris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 55th minute of play. In the 57th minute, Luiz Fábio de Medeiros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in USA's zone, Laércio Penha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Day came out of the goal and Laércio Penha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Mickaël Maris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cassius Byrne in the 67th minute of play. When Laércio Penha came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Nova Iguaçu MZFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Laércio Penha couldn't finish the play. USA's Sam Campbell was substituted for Cassius Byrne. Mickaël Maris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Mcdonald, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's attentive Luiz Fábio de Medeiros managed to snatch the ball when Diego Bradley made a throw-in in the 76th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Monty Rogers in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mickaël Maris saved Nova Iguaçu MZFC from getting behind. A nice corner shot did that Jenson Smith got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mickaël Maris quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a rather tough play, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Luiz Fábio de Medeiros got a free kick in the 88th minute. Mickaël Maris was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Chants of Nova Iguaçu MZFC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as USA had held the ball for most of the match.
