Dimitris Charalambopoulos was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Manuel Drăgănoiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Panat's supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Drăgănoiu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dimitris Charalambopoulos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. Dimitris Charalambopoulos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 35th minute of play. After 36 played minutes FC Panat got a freekick which was hit by Suat Okman. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dimitris Charalambopoulos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 40th minute of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Dimitris Charalambopoulos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 63rd minute of play forced FC Panat's goalkeeper Dimitris Charalambopoulos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Panait Moșneanu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Panait Moșneanu scored 2-5 in the 97th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
