Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Gaona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 13th minute, La Maquina 9-12-18's Carmelo Vachon dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Jose Vimaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 23rd minute of play. Igor Ignazio kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Joel Gaona's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jose Vimaro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Luca Rouco got a free kick in the 27th minute. Dante Lacasa was out of position in the 29 minute of play, and Bastien Domenge capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bastien Domenge really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
