In the 13th minute Pekko Rino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Courtois saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pekko Rino might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernando Courtois. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pekko Rino ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 26th match minute, AC Collins was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Didi Valletta to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pekko Rino in the 30th minute of play forced Agro Imortal's goalkeeper Fernando Courtois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 41 minutes AC Collins's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Emílio Teixeira who took care of the corner kick. The supporters of AC Collins booed when Agro Imortal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oswaldo Bueno didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute Çağrı Torehan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donato Foddis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pekko Rino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, AC Collins's Donato Foddis got control of the ball when Çağrı Torehan tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 52nd minute Agro Imortal were awarded a corner. Emílio Teixeira went to the cornerflag to take it. Fernando Courtois showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pekko Rino, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Agro Imortal made a substitution. Valério Veiga replaced Frans Olsson. 62 minutes into the game, Frank Di Toma threw the ball into play from the sideline. Agro Imortal's Oswaldo Bueno quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 63rd minute, Agro Imortal's Dennis Bergkamp ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Donato Foddis. Donato Foddis yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. In the 68th minute Dennis Bergkamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donato Foddis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Dennis Bergkamp dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Donato Foddis, 1-3. Dennis Bergkamp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Foddis having to interfere. AC Collins's Donato Foddis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dennis Bergkamp in the 77th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emílio Teixeira got free with Donato Foddis in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dennis Bergkamp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Donato Foddis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Agro Imortal's attentive Oswaldo Bueno managed to snatch the ball when Didi Valletta made a throw-in in the 90th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in AC Collins's zone, Dennis Bergkamp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donato Foddis came out of the goal and Dennis Bergkamp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The Agro Imortal supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Agro Imortal would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
