An unexpectedly hard shot by Túlio Hermes in the 3rd minute of play forced Älta BK's goalkeeper Edgar Grep to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tony Dias hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Luís Paulo Paiva got a free kick in the 10th minute. Vito Vidal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Orlando Engelaar in the 11th minute. 14 minutes into the game, Per-Erik Bergfeldt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Älta BK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE the free kick. The supporters of CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE booed when Älta BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per-Erik Bergfeldt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgar Grep took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Túlio Hermes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Túlio Hermes took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edgar Grep. Edgar Grep dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. A collision led to Älta BK getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Nils-Emil Engman hit a great ball. 23 minutes into the match, Älta BK's goal looked a bit too open when Tony Dias came free, but Edgar Grep reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edgar Grep showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Túlio Hermes, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 34th minute of the match Diguinho de Senna shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edgar Grep showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 35th minute Túlio Hermes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Grep saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tony Dias charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tony Dias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Per-Erik Bergfeldt to make the kick off. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's goalkeeper Vito Vidal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vito Vidal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per-Erik Bergfeldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Orlando Engelaar kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edinho Aparecido in the 55th minute of play forced Älta BK's goalkeeper Edgar Grep to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Clemente Prestes charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Clemente Prestes kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's goal looked a bit too open when Per-Erik Bergfeldt came free, but Vito Vidal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Túlio Hermes got free with Edgar Grep in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 79 minutes, Túlio Hermes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE and the Älta BK players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 88 played minutes CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE got a freekick which was hit by Júlio Brasil. Décio Vides's late challenge caught a Älta BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Décio Vides helped the player get up and apologised. In the 90th minute, Décio Vides hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Túlio Hermes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Edgar Grep made a huge save.

The Älta BK fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
