In the 27th minute of the match Ian de Castro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. In the 31st minute, Fachtna Duggan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 36th minute of play forced Mayhem Sharks's goalkeeper Wellington de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 47 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Camilo Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fabiano de Andrade in the 94th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Mayhem Sharks to leave the ground with a draw.
