Jack Agnes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Bombai Bombis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 12th play minutes Bombai Bombis shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Jonathan Ferrant and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 23rd minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stanford Peters saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomas Illescas during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 26th minute, Tomas Illescas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 34 minutes into the match, Kentucky Mustangs's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Stanford Peters reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stanford Peters took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 41 minutes, Jack Agnes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kentucky Mustangs's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jack Agnes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 46 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Venegas.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jack Agnes to make the kick off. A collision led to Kentucky Mustangs getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Jack Agnes hit a great ball. 53 minutes into the game, Kentucky Mustangs's Bombai Bombis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Jack Agnes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Jack Agnes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cesar Hays sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Venezuela's Patricio Costa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Stanford Peters. That made the score 2-1 after 64 minutes of play. Jack Agnes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stanford Peters having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, Kentucky Mustangs's Jack Agnes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A throw-in in the 76th minute of the game was made by Tracy Brunson with Tony Freitas as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bombai Bombis in the 86th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Kentucky Mustangs's Barry Curry got a free kick in the 87th minute. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stanford Peters having to interfere. Stanford Peters took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Kentucky Mustangs fans cheered their team off the field, for while Venezuela had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
