In the 22nd minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wellington de Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Wellington de Almeida made a huge save. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mayhem Sharks's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Wellington de Almeida in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 27th minute, Narciso Dias left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mayhem Sharks fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Ian de Castro kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Narciso Dias, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After a rather tough play, Mayhem Sharks's Nikola Radošević got a free kick in the 32nd minute. 37 minutes into the match, Narciso Dias had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Narciso Dias was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 40 minutes into the match, Mayhem Sharks's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Wellington de Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Narciso Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the match, Narciso Dias had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Narciso Dias was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Narciso Dias stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Narciso Dias struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mayhem Sharks. Jonathan Ferrant was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Narciso Dias showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 56 minute of play. Narciso Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61st minute Jailson Rossi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Mayhem Sharks's Narciso Dias. But to his dismay, Narciso Dias quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Joshua Secada got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Jailson Rossi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 87th minute by Luís Fabiano de Andrade got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wellington de Almeida having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luís Fabiano de Andrade went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-8 was the resulting score. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Guillermo Mariano hit a great ball.
