An unexpectedly hard shot by Pastor Abel in the 5th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Panama's Tomas Berganza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fermin Basajaun narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. In the 23rd minute, Omar Jakue left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CeciForEver fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Omar Jakue in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcos Cotilla saved Panama from getting behind. 29 minutes into the game, Joaquin Inautzi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CeciForEver's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Panama the free kick. A collision led to CeciForEver getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

CeciForEver's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filomeno Jon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Omar Jakue in the 62nd minute. Omar Jakue recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fermin Basajaun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 76th minute of play. With a little luck, Panama's Marcos Cotilla got control of the ball when Bernardino Playo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Omar Jakue, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Alex Cambeiro hit a great ball.
