Tomas Illescas took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cisco Rubial. AC Ony's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. AC Ony's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. In the 23rd match minute, AC Ony was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Banciu to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to AC Ony getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Ferdinand Chivulescu hit a great ball. The supporters of Venezuela booed when AC Ony was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferdinand Chivulescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 36 minutes, Julio Dei managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AC Ony's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julio Dei was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 38 minutes into the match, AC Ony's Donald Tusk sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 59th minute Ciprian Caba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pompiliu Traian made in the 63rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Sven-Erik Hermansson. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donald Tusk in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 75th minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cisco Rubial saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th minute, Patricio Costa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cisco Rubial was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. With 91 minutes on the clock, Alex Chicote commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Jonathan Ferrant had in the 93rdth minute some difficulties stopping Sorin Romaşcanu's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 98th minute Sven-Erik Hermansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezuela players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for AC Ony.
