The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the match, Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luís Vergílio. Kaká Ferreira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Lautaro Navarro made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmundo Espiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cido Valle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Moises Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cido Valle having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cido Valle narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 32nd minute of play forced Atlético de Crisal's goalkeeper Cido Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Edmundo Espiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Honduras from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kaká Ferreira in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lautaro Navarro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 38th match minute, Atlético de Crisal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alessandro Goiano to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cido Valle saved Atlético de Crisal from getting behind. After 47 played minutes Atlético de Crisal got a freekick which was hit by Alessandro Goiano. 48 minutes into the match, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edmundo Espiga to strike the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes of play, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cido Valle was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Honduras booed when Atlético de Crisal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romarinho Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Breno Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Honduras booed when Atlético de Crisal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Atlético de Crisal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Honduras the free kick. Edmundo Espiga who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Cido Valle when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 95th minute Romarinho Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 96 minutes Honduras's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Romarinho Silva who took care of the corner kick. After 97 played minutes Atlético de Crisal got a freekick which was hit by Vito Custódio. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
