The supporters of Jamaica booed when FK Partizan Beograd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Krsto Rankić didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Jamaica's goal looked a bit too open when Mitar Momić came free, but Demonde Jacobson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FK Partizan Beograd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Živadin Gvozdenović was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Demonde Jacobson came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by FK Partizan Beograd's Mitar Momić. But to his dismay, Mitar Momić quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Janča Sokolov in the 47th minute of play forced Jamaica's goalkeeper Demonde Jacobson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mitar Momić stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Jamaica's goalkeeper Demonde Jacobson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Boban Pečenić. When Boban Pečenić fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FK Partizan Beograd's protests and gave Boban Pečenić a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Jamaica booed when FK Partizan Beograd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boban Pečenić didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to FK Partizan Beograd getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Kamenko Nemčev hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Janča Sokolov got free with Demonde Jacobson in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Boris Čović showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Finlay Stair in the 77th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Miljan Lončarević hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 85th minute, Karlus Waugh ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Boris Čović was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. After a rather tough play, Jamaica's Jamaall Padmore got a free kick in the 90th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
