With a little luck, Chile's Thiago Pliego got control of the ball when Co Bayo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 17th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Erauso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Co Bayo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thiago Pliego was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Guillermo Fontirroig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wang Cheng Xiang, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. 41 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Wang Cheng Xiang came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Carballar in the 44th minute of play forced Alijilán returns's goalkeeper Victor Erauso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 45 minutes had been played when some careless play by Alijilán returns's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wang Cheng Xiang was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Alijilán returns's Adilson Rocha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thiago Pliego narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 57 minutes into the match, Alijilán returns's goalkeeper Victor Erauso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mariano Lacasa. After a defensive mix-up in Chile's zone, Wang Cheng Xiang stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal and Wang Cheng Xiang tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 62 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Aytuğ Aral came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute, Pedro Indiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 67th minute of the match Cipriano Tavio shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thiago Pliego showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Xavier Figueroa was extremely unlucky when he, in the 75th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Co Bayo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thiago Pliego having to interfere. The supporters of Chile booed when Alijilán returns was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacobo Azubeli didn't get a good kick on the ball. 87 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Alijilán returns's Victor Erauso. Victor Erauso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
