In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Szombathely Squirrels's goalkeeper Róbert Kormos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 6 played minutes Strömsbro IF got a freekick which was hit by Jens-Ola Norberg. Sebastian Rosen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Róbert Kormos having to interfere. Hjalmar Ahlén's late challenge caught a Szombathely Squirrels's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hjalmar Ahlén helped the player get up and apologised. Hjalmar Ahlén kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Szombathely Squirrels's Mihály Földesi got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 14 minutes into the game, Jens-Ola Norberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Strömsbro IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Szombathely Squirrels the free kick. A collision led to Strömsbro IF getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Jens-Ola Norberg hit a great ball. In the 16th minute Mihály Földesi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Per-Olof Walroth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Per-Olof Walroth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zsolt Vörös, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 29 minutes into the match, Strömsbro IF's goal looked a bit too open when Zsolt Vörös came free, but Per-Olof Walroth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th match minute, Strömsbro IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jörn Hermansson to maneuver through the defense. When Ferenc Jászberényi fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Szombathely Squirrels's protests and gave Ferenc Jászberényi a yellow card for diving instead. 33 minutes into the match, Szombathely Squirrels's goalkeeper Róbert Kormos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sebastian Rosen. 35 minutes into the match, Strömsbro IF's goal looked a bit too open when Zsolt Vörös came free, but Per-Olof Walroth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Per-Olof Walroth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dénes Boross, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Róbert Kormos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jörn Hermansson in the 37th minute of the match. Jörn Hermansson took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Róbert Kormos. Róbert Kormos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0.

Szilárd Csikós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Per-Olof Walroth made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Mihály Földesi sent off a good shot on target. Dénes Boross hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jörn Hermansson in the 62nd minute of play forced Szombathely Squirrels's goalkeeper Róbert Kormos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Strömsbro IF's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Bernt Löfskog in the 63rd minute. 69 minutes into the match, Strömsbro IF's goalkeeper Per-Olof Walroth had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dénes Boross. When Strömsbro IF's Sebastian Rosen in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Szombathely Squirrels's goalie prevented a goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Szombathely Squirrels players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Strömsbro IF.
