Marzagão's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ivan Billberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 29th minute Jörn Hermansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Luís Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Marzagão's Alfredinho Quintal got a free kick in the 30th minute. Jörn Hermansson hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. After having played for 40 minutes, Ivan Billberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Strömsbro IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivan Billberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Jörn Hermansson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Strömsbro IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Jörn Hermansson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Luís Fernandez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pedro Luís Fernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivan Billberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Gilberto Saraiva kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Jörn Hermansson made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Strömsbro IF getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Ivan Billberg hit a great ball. After 74 played minutes Marzagão got a freekick which was hit by César Rosa. Jörn Hermansson took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedro Luís Fernandez. Pedro Luís Fernandez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Hjalmar Ahlén kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Ivan Billberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Luís Fernandez having to interfere. Oskar Pihlgren hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. 97 minutes into the match, Strömsbro IF's goal looked a bit too open when Neil Mar came free, but Per-Olof Walroth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Strömsbro IF eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
