Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, DFP's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Joel Vallengren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Birger Söderqwist during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ecuador booed when DFP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Birger Söderqwist didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in DFP's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Vallengren came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 76th minute, Stefano Lilipaly got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Åke Löfgren came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the DFP fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Åke Löfgren couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Stefano Lilipaly stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Stefano Lilipaly tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Charlie Bjurström was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 81st minute. DFP's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 82nd minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. After 87 minutes of play DFP's Thor Hasselqvist was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 87th match minute, DFP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thor Hasselqvist to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 92nd minute, when Stefano Lilipaly scored to the left of an out of position Julio Vera, making the score, 3-2. There was no doubt that Ecuador were the better team. Ecuador's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
