Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Marc-André Grifoll tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Jose Policarpio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Jose Policarpio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jose Policarpio hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. 21 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of La Mora CAT's Marc-André Grifoll. Marc-André Grifoll was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the La Mora CAT defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marc-André Grifoll. The La Mora CAT fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marc-André Grifoll should have stopped the shot. Marc-André Grifoll showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 40th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ronaldinho Gaucho got free with Julio Vera in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. La Mora CAT's Marc-André Grifoll played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 45th minute of play. After 46 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. In the 47th minute Severino Coutinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

La Mora CAT's defense didn't have a chance, in the 55th minute, when Cristian Sancho scored to the left of an out of position Marc-André Grifoll, making the score, 0-3. La Mora CAT made a substitution. Nabucodonosor Rallo replaced Etor Benito. Agustín Saelices could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Marc-André Grifoll made a huge save. When La Mora CAT's Jose Policarpio in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marc-André Grifoll breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jose Policarpio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marc-André Grifoll was a little too slow when Cristian Sancho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 83rd minute. The score was now 0-4. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jose Policarpio in the 86th minute of the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose Policarpio in the 87th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jose Policarpio in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Marc-André Grifoll made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 92nd minute. After 93 minutes, Jose Policarpio made it 1-4 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The La Mora CAT fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
