Mexico's Dante Lacasa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 11th match minute, Brufoss IL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anders Elstad to maneuver through the defense. In the 12th minute of the match Joel Gaona sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Borys Witek skillfully saved the ball. Borys Witek came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Joel Gaona. But to his dismay, Joel Gaona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 17th minute Kai Østbye shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Markham, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 29th minute. Lautaro Mancebo made a great header on Mexico's corner, it was just that Brufoss IL's Borys Witek managed to reach the ball for a save. Borys Witek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 31st minute of play. After having played for 33 minutes, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Gaona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Borys Witek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 40th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Lautaro Mancebo heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Borys Witek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 46th minute of play. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Borys Witek having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emanuel Markham to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Brufoss IL's zone, Joel Gaona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Borys Witek came out of the goal and Joel Gaona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Borys Witek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Zorita in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 56th minute Kent Remme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Borys Witek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Borys Witek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 67 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Luca Zorita. Brufoss IL made a substitution. Are Høiby replaced Kevin Strømsnes. Brufoss IL's Kajetan Kazimierz was substituted for Anders Elstad. The supporters of Brufoss IL booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 70th minute of play forced Brufoss IL's goalkeeper Borys Witek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lautaro Mancebo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Borys Witek having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Kent Remme's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dante Lacasa was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. 86 minutes into the match, Brufoss IL's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Zorita came free, but Borys Witek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute, Mexico's Joel Gaona ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Borys Witek. Borys Witek yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Markham in the 92nd minute of the match. After 94 minutes, Emanuel Markham mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Brufoss IL and the Mexico players grew even worse after the yellow card. Emanuel Markham kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. After having played for 95 minutes, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Mancebo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Mexico supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mexico would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
