Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Paraguay's Jaime Pardo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Paraguay getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Hector Covarrubias hit a great ball. Severino Eneto made in the 7th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias. After 9 played minutes Club A. Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Rolando Victoro. After 12 minutes of play, Paraguay's Jaime Pardo made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Epifanio Havier was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 21st minute, Adrian Pacifico hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hector Covarrubias in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Epifanio Havier prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hector Covarrubias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Epifanio Havier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Pardo in the 33rd minute of play. In the 40th minute Andres Ishmael shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute Jaime Pardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Epifanio Havier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Pardo in the 43rd minute of play forced Club A. Independiente's goalkeeper Epifanio Havier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saverio Astigar made in the 46th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Paraguay's Raul Venegas. After the first half Paraguay were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andres Ishmael stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Club A. Independiente getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Rolando Victoro hit a great ball. Severino Eneto kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. The throw-in from Andres Ishmael in the 63rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Paraguay's Alan Campos. When Jaime Pardo came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Paraguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaime Pardo couldn't finish the play. 91 minutes into the game, Raul Venegas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paraguay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club A. Independiente the free kick. In the 92nd match minute, Paraguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raul Venegas to maneuver through the defense. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andres Ishmael, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Andres Ishmael fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Nores having to interfere.
