USA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Björn Tingelholm was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 23 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Björn Tingelholm came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bruno Antognoni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cassius Byrne, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute, Björn Tingelholm left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The San Felice a Ema U.L. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Bruno Antognoni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monty Rogers in the 31st minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cassius Byrne in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bruno Antognoni prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Monty Rogers, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 35 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The tension between the San Felice a Ema U.L. and the USA players grew even worse after the yellow card. Juan Guillem hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Björn Tingelholm stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jenson Smith in the 56th minute of play forced San Felice a Ema U.L.'s goalkeeper Bruno Antognoni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute USA were awarded a corner. Cassius Byrne went to the cornerflag to take it. Monty Rogers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Antognoni having to interfere.
