In the 19th minute Zlatko Balcar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miroslav Krištof tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Pekárová rodinka getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. František Knespl hit a great ball. In the 41st minute, Miroslav Dosoudil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Efrain Moruga during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Axel Tasis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pekárová rodinka's Miroslav Krištof played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 54th minute of play. In the 55th minute of the match Costa Rica got a corner. Pekárová rodinka's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. After a defensive mix-up in Pekárová rodinka's zone, Axel Tasis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miroslav Krištof came out of the goal and Axel Tasis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Godfredo Laurin in the 61st minute of play. When Eliseo Noboa fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Eliseo Noboa a yellow card for diving instead. Eliseo Noboa hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. 66 minutes into the game, Jiří Hanzlík was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pekárová rodinka's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costa Rica the free kick. 65 minutes into the game, one of Pekárová rodinka:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 70th minute, Mathias Souto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. In the 73rd minute Eliseo Noboa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miroslav Krištof saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. František Knespl struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pekárová rodinka. Miroslav Krištof came out of the goal and Lautaro Puig tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mathias Souto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mathias Souto charged in rather forcefully in the 97th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mathias Souto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 97 played minutes Pekárová rodinka got a freekick which was hit by Mathias Souto.
