In the 15th minute, Kelly Hayden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 16th minute of the match Primitivo Escribano shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcelo Gröhe showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jaime Pardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Gröhe having to interfere. Jacobo Nores made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vince Cleveland in the 20th minute of play. In the 24th minute Vince Cleveland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wichita Regulators's Vince Cleveland got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Jaime Pardo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paraguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Pardo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelo Gröhe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 35 minutes into the game, Hector Covarrubias recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcelo Gröhe. Hector Covarrubias showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stacey Weaver in the 40th minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Paraguay's zone, Vince Cleveland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacobo Nores came out of the goal and Vince Cleveland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Jacobo Nores was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Vince Cleveland showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 64 minute of play. Derick Sloan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. The tension between the Paraguay and the Wichita Regulators players grew even worse after the yellow card. 冯乐希 hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. The throw-in from Stacey Weaver in the 90th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Paraguay's Xavier Zoido. Chants of Wichita Regulators echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Paraguay had held the ball for most of the match.
