In the 6th minute, Joachim Stenquist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Heiko Pinksteren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Cazalla in the 7th minute of play. 8 minutes had been played when some careless play by fc pertotal's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jaime Cazalla was slow to take the kick. During this time Uruguay's players had a chance to rest. Maximiliano Escribano made a great header on Uruguay's corner, it was just that fc pertotal's Heiko Pinksteren managed to reach the ball for a save. When Maximiliano Escribano, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 9 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Heiko Pinksteren was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 11th minute Chandler Bing shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th match minute, fc pertotal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joachim Stenquist to maneuver through the defense. Tony Degraef's late challenge caught a Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tony Degraef helped the player get up and apologised. Uruguay's Francisco Seco got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 24th minute of the match fc pertotal got a corner. Uruguay's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Chandler Bing ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Chandler Bing got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Joaquin Gayoso quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 33 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Tony Degraef came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 45 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Tony Degraef sped through Uruguay's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. After the first half fc pertotal were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tony Degraef stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Francisco Seco in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Heiko Pinksteren saved fc pertotal from getting behind. After 59 minutes Uruguay's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Chandler Bing who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Chandler Bing got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Joaquin Gayoso quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Joaquin Gayoso didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 65th minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. A collision led to fc pertotal getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Frank Vermeulen hit a great ball. The supporters of fc pertotal booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Uruguay from getting a goal against them. In the 92nd minute, Francisco Seco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Heiko Pinksteren was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Uruguay players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
