One of Panama:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Pekárová rodinka:s goal. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Pereira in the 25th minute of play. After 26 minutes, 苏弘志 mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pekárová rodinka and the Panama players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tomas Berganza was extremely unlucky when he, in the 27th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Sylwester Pieprz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute of the match Panama got a corner. Pekárová rodinka's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Abraham Alguacil ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 31 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Berganza. In the 36thth minute of the game Tomas Berganza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pekárová rodinka's Sylwester Pieprz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Pereira in the 37th minute of play. Sylwester Pieprz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Panama's Isidoro Sarmiento got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Pekárová rodinka's Jan Chaloupka got a free kick in the 61st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Berganza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sylwester Pieprz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Václav Křivan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Marcos Cotilla made a huge save. After 69 played minutes Pekárová rodinka got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Pereira. After a rather tough play, Panama's Felipe Ros got a free kick in the 72nd minute. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 80thth minute of the game Tomas Berganza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pekárová rodinka's Sylwester Pieprz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them.
