In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 20th minute of the match ★RO★ Afrimesti FC 2007 got a corner. Mexico's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eugen Mihălțan ran over to the corner to take the kick. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucrețiu Ghimiș in the 24th minute of play. Alberto Tafalla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nektarios Varveris read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Irinel Tatomir recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 31st minute Lucrețiu Ghimiș shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nektarios Varveris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 32nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 35th minute of play forced ★RO★ Afrimesti FC 2007's goalkeeper Nektarios Varveris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nektarios Varveris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 39th minute of play. ★RO★ Afrimesti FC 2007's Nektarios Varveris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 40th minute of play. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Nektarios Varveris made a huge save. Basarab Vărzaru hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The long shot by Joel Gaona in the 47th minute really tested Nektarios Varveris's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Irinel Tatomir to make the kick off. Dante Lacasa was out of position in the 51 minute of play, and Irinel Tatomir capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Irinel Tatomir really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Basarab Vărzaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nektarios Varveris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 59th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nektarios Varveris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 62 played minutes ★RO★ Afrimesti FC 2007 got a freekick which was hit by Ole-Petter Korsvik. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Leonardo Leoz hit a great ball. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Nektarios Varveris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The ★RO★ Afrimesti FC 2007 players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Mexico from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
