Mexico were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Platense es de Primera!!'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. The tension between the Mexico and the Platense es de Primera!! players grew even worse after the yellow card. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maximiliano Naelio to make the kick off.
