Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Joel Gaona got the match started through his kick off. Alberto Tafalla took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alvaro Regis. Alvaro Regis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 8th minute, Luca Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alvaro Regis was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Alvaro Regis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 11th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Lanús's zone, Alberto Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alvaro Regis came out of the goal and Alberto Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 14 played minutes Lanús got a freekick which was hit by Maximino Quinito. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Alvaro Regis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alvaro Regis made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Gaona in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alvaro Regis saved Lanús from getting behind. Alvaro Regis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Zorita in the 30th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Facundo Cadaval in the 32nd minute of play forced Lanús's goalkeeper Alvaro Regis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Alvaro Regis made a huge save. In the 35th match minute, Lanús was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcos Lidon to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 37 minutes, Luca Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luca Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alberto Tafalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Alvaro Regis made a huge save. In the 39th minute, Marcos Lidon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alvaro Regis was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alberto Tafalla showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 5-0 in the 41 minute of play. Mexico's Joel Gaona got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 6-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Moises Tercero stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 52nd minute of play forced Lanús's goalkeeper Alvaro Regis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alvaro Regis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Facundo Cadaval, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 55th minute, Alberto Tafalla made a precise shot to the right of Alvaro Regis. Lanús's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alvaro Regis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alberto Tafalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 73 minutes into the match, Lanús's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Alvaro Regis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 74th minute, Lautaro Mancebo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. In the 77th minute, Alberto Tafalla made a precise shot to the right of Alvaro Regis. Lanús's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-0. Joel Gaona took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alvaro Regis. Alvaro Regis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 10-0. In the 81st minute, Alberto Tafalla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Alberto Tafalla put it in 11-0 from a short distance just to the right of Alvaro Regis. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvaro Regis having to interfere. Facundo Cadaval fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvaro Regis having to interfere. Alberto Tafalla took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alvaro Regis. Alvaro Regis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 12-0. When Maximino Quinito fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lanús's protests and gave Maximino Quinito a yellow card for diving instead. Maximino Quinito hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Alvaro Regis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 94th minute, Luca Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mexico's Alberto Tafalla got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Mexico fully deserved thier win.
