Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Emir Kujović sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Platense es de Primera!! defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Olivér Khan. The Platense es de Primera!! fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olivér Khan should have stopped the shot. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olivér Khan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 34th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 37 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Maximiliano Naelio made a kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Ferdinand Acevedo notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maximiliano Naelio in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 59th minute Maximiliano Naelio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, Platense es de Primera!!'s Moises Inocente sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 65 minutes into the match, Platense es de Primera!!'s goalkeeper Olivér Khan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Olivér Khan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 80th minute, Martin Elizardo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-4. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Elizardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Platense es de Primera!!'s Olivér Khan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Platense es de Primera!! from getting a goal against them. After 86 minutes, Martin Elizardo made it 5-4 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Elizardo in the 88th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 90 minutes, the score became 6-4 when Martin Elizardo sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Su in the 93rd minute of play. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Olivér Khan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Platense es de Primera!! were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
