Tomas Illescas's late challenge caught a Kultapossukerho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomas Illescas helped the player get up and apologised. In the 18th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Illescas to maneuver through the defense. Sixto Ugutz took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Nuutti Vauhkonen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. The Venezuela players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Kultapossukerho were winning 0-4.

53 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Nuutti Vauhkonen came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kultapossukerho.
