The supporters of Kultapossukerho booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuutti Vauhkonen in the 23rd minute of play. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th match minute, Kultapossukerho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andy Jackson to maneuver through the defense. Elbert Hand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute of the match. Elbert Hand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Veli Kuparinen made a great header on Kultapossukerho's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nuutti Vauhkonen to strike the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sixto Ugutz went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After 79 played minutes Kultapossukerho got a freekick which was hit by Andy Jackson. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Terho Litja during the 81st minute. The Kultapossukerho fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
