After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustaw Pysz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The corner led Ornitorrincos F.C.'s Raymundo Carilao to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Gustaw Pysz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 47th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Gustaw Pysz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Ecuador walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
