When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Veríssimo Velasques made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Saint Jean Pierre during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 51 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Haiti! The goalkeeper, Noel Seide, was totally fooled by G.D Vitória de Sernache's Manuel Morais, who 53 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Heitor Festas might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Noel Seide. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Heitor Festas ran back to his position shaking his head. Adão Avelar made in the 89th minute of the game a quick throw-in and António Ramalho immediately put the ball in play. Haiti's Philippe Ambroise got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
