Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Edmundo Espiga started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Honduras's Luca Espinar quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Desiderio Tome, made in the 5th minute of the game. With a little luck, Honduras's Lautaro Navarro got control of the ball when Belmiro Quadros tried to sneak it across the goal line. Itapeipu AD's Greg Marshall managed to work through Honduras's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Greg Marshall dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. When Sebastian Villa came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastian Villa couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Sancho in the 16th minute of play forced Itapeipu AD's goalkeeper Silvinho Monteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lautaro Navarro made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Greg Marshall sent off a good shot on target. Greg Marshall might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lautaro Navarro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Greg Marshall ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 23rd minute, Bebeto de Carvalho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lautaro Navarro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. A sloppy throw-in by Desiderio Tome in the 29th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Honduras's Luca Espinar. In the 30th minute Bebeto de Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Itapeipu AD's Bebeto de Carvalho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lautaro Navarro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 35th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esteban Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. Belmiro Quadros took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 36th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Bebeto de Carvalho took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 42nd minute of the match Dênis Passos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lautaro Navarro skillfully saved the ball. In the 44th minute Bebeto de Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Honduras's Lautaro Navarro got control of the ball when Greg Marshall tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 47th minute, Greg Marshall ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lautaro Navarro was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bebeto de Carvalho to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Vander in the 57th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute Bebeto de Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emanuel Ocampo hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Belmiro Quadros in the 66th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Bebeto de Carvalho put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Greg Marshall in the 75th minute of the match. In the 79th minute Bebeto de Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bebeto de Carvalho in the 80th minute of play. In the 82nd minute Greg Marshall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Greg Marshall, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bebeto de Carvalho in the 86th minute of play. When Itapeipu AD's Bebeto de Carvalho in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Honduras's goalie prevented a goal. Itapeipu AD's Silvinho Monteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 91st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Honduras's zone, Bebeto de Carvalho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lautaro Navarro came out of the goal and Bebeto de Carvalho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Honduras players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Itapeipu AD.
