Joel Gaona scored 1-0 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Andreas Fransson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Emil Ciuvică took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Karl-Magnus Harlén kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th minute, Luca Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Karl-Magnus Harlén was the one to do the kick off. Andreas Fransson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 50th minute of the match. 52 minutes into the game, Lautaro Mancebo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. If Facundo Cadaval had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Karl-Magnus Harlén's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dante Lacasa was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. In the 79thth minute of the game Joel Gaona who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Drottningens Parkväktare's Andreas Fransson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karl-Magnus Harlén, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andreas Fransson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-3. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Mexico fans cheered their team off the field, for while Drottningens Parkväktare had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
