Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Costa Rica's Axel Tasis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tommy Gråberg took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 8th match minute, SSC Napoli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clark Reuterwall to maneuver through the defense. Walter Lindholm hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Axel Tasis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sakarias Bocklund having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Tommy Gråberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. SSC Napoli's supporters rose to their feet, but Tommy Gråberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 15 played minutes SSC Napoli got a freekick which was hit by Orvar Nykvist. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by SSC Napoli's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Axel Tasis was slow to take the kick. During this time Costa Rica's players had a chance to rest. In the 27th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Noboa to maneuver through the defense. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jens-Erik Andreasson in the 31st minute of play. In the 34th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Axel Tasis to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Axel Tasis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Axel Tasis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sakarias Bocklund breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Aaron Alcocer fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Aaron Alcocer a yellow card for diving instead. In the 48th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron Alcocer to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jens-Erik Andreasson made a kick off. Clark Reuterwall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benito Sanz was a little too slow when Jens-Erik Andreasson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 0-3. In the 60th match minute, SSC Napoli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Per-Olof Ödman to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to SSC Napoli getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Walter Lindholm hit a great ball. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sakarias Bocklund having to interfere. SSC Napoli's Tommy Gråberg got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Axel Tasis during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lautaro Puig might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sakarias Bocklund. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lautaro Puig ran back to his position shaking his head. After 74 played minutes SSC Napoli got a freekick which was hit by Walter Lindholm. SSC Napoli's attentive Malte Viklund managed to snatch the ball when Lautaro Puig made a throw-in in the 75th minute of the game. Tommy Gråberg who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Benito Sanz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 80th minute Jens-Erik Andreasson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jens-Erik Andreasson hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. In the 83rd minute Eliseo Noboa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sakarias Bocklund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th minute, Jens-Erik Andreasson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Axel Tasis was shown his second yellow card after 96 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Axel Tasis hit a great ball.
