In the 3rd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. In the 4th minute of the match Karl-Axel Majman shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 5 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. REAL SUOMI CF's Calle Bruse shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 6th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Julio Vera but with some difficulty. With an all-out effort, REAL SUOMI CF's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 8 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Calle Bruse, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Tobias Sandberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Ecuador booed when REAL SUOMI CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sindri Sigdórsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dan Ahlbeck in the 14th minute. 16 minutes into the match, REAL SUOMI CF's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Tobias Sandberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tobias Sandberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 43rdth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but REAL SUOMI CF's Tobias Sandberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 45 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Juan Sebastián Puig. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dan Ahlbeck to make the kick off. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tobias Sandberg having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 69th minute, Agustín Saelices reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tobias Sandberg. The goal made the score 0-2. 72 minutes into the match, REAL SUOMI CF's goalkeeper Tobias Sandberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luis Andino. In the 73rd minute, Fabinho Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Radomir Narbut hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Börje Blom charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Börje Blom the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The ball had pretty good speed, but Tobias Sandberg firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 79th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
