The audience was convinced that Jaime Pardo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sven-Arne Eklund was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Hector Covarrubias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Sven-Arne Eklund made a huge save. Jaime Pardo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Bennis getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Albin Lenberg hit a great ball. In the 49th minute Jaime Pardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven-Arne Eklund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andy Gudmundsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaime Pardo couldn't finish the play. Bennis's Andy Gudmundsson suffered a concussion in the 83rd minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Raul Venegas during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Raul Venegas kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match.
