Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Ecuador booed when BULDOZERUL SANTA FE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florín Mihuț didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho scored 0-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eric Gherghe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eric Gherghe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eric Gherghe made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Agustín Saelices's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eric Gherghe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Daniel Zorita advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-3 in the 20th minute. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eric Gherghe having to make a save. Eric Gherghe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by BULDOZERUL SANTA FE's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. In the 29th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. In the 31st minute, Felix Montenegro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eric Gherghe was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. Felix Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. 38 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eric Gherghe. BULDOZERUL SANTA FE's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. 44 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-8. Eric Gherghe was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. BULDOZERUL SANTA FE's defense didn't have a chance, in the 51st minute, when Daniel Zorita scored to the left of an out of position Eric Gherghe, making the score, 0-9. Tiberiu Angheluș fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Eric Gherghe made a huge save. With a little luck, BULDOZERUL SANTA FE's Eric Gherghe got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 67th match minute, BULDOZERUL SANTA FE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Virgil Tănăsocă to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Eric Gherghe in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eric Gherghe having to interfere. Eric Gherghe came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-10. 76 minutes in the game, Luis Andino fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Eric Gherghe having to interfere. Eric Gherghe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luis Andino took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eric Gherghe. Eric Gherghe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-11. Eric Gherghe was a little too slow when Cristian Sancho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 0-12. In the 91st match minute, BULDOZERUL SANTA FE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petre Bratu to maneuver through the defense. In the 92nd minute, Daniel Zorita sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and BULDOZERUL SANTA FE's Eric Gherghe didn't even have to move. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Eric Gherghe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador played a much better game than BULDOZERUL SANTA FE and deserved their victory. The BULDOZERUL SANTA FE players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
