In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elder de Toledo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. 21 minutes into the match, GNK Dinamo Zagreb™'s goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Elder de Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zachary Parzysz got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. GNK Dinamo Zagreb™'s Gürcan Orguntay quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Salvador Gisbert, made in the 33rd minute of the game. Elder de Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 36th minute of the match. If Zachary Parzysz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zachary Parzysz in the 38th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elder de Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 40th minute of the match. Jonathan Venegas hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. A sloppy throw-in by Salvador Gisbert in the 45th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by GNK Dinamo Zagreb™'s Gürcan Orguntay.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 55th minute, Zachary Parzysz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Bruno Šimunko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Zachary Parzysz hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 97 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ninoslav Baburica who took care of the corner kick. Ibrica Madunić was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After a rather tough play, GNK Dinamo Zagreb™'s Ibrica Madunić got a free kick in the 98th minute.
