In the 47th minute, Jerônimo Magalhães ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The wind increased when Jerônimo Magalhães made the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes of play, Silveira's Jerônimo Magalhães made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rubens Queiroz charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rubens Queiroz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Silveira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rubens Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Silveira's Dalmo Domingues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 69th minute of play. Nico Fernandes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerônimo Magalhães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 85 minutes into the match, Jerônimo Magalhães had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jerônimo Magalhães was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. The supporters of Silveira booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Beto Carvalho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 91st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Dedé Linares hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. 96 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Jerônimo Magalhães came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Silveira had won after a very even match.
