CERRO PORTEÑO's Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis came free and shot a quick shot against goal 9 minutes in the game, fortunately Pedro Manzanares had problems saving as it came toward the left post. In the 10th minute of the match, Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pedro Manzanares saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 11 minutes Colombia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Paulo Maldini who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Paulo Maldini got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Pedro Manzanares quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The crowd rose to their feet as Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pedro Manzanares. That made the score 1-0 in the 15 minute of play. Cãlin Damaschin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 18th minute of play. Cãlin Damaschin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. CERRO PORTEÑO's Paulo Maldini quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Orlando Tafalla, made in the 26th minute of the game. Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis scored 2-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Manzanares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Abram Sarmiento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevin Mastache in the 37th minute of play forced CERRO PORTEÑO's goalkeeper Cãlin Damaschin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 42 minutes, Barto Crespo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CERRO PORTEÑO and the Colombia players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Colombia booed when CERRO PORTEÑO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barto Crespo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Axel Montenegro went to the cornerflag to take it. 61 minutes into the match, CERRO PORTEÑO's goal looked a bit too open when Abram Sarmiento came free, but Cãlin Damaschin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abram Sarmiento did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-2 to the left of a surprised Cãlin Damaschin 61 minutes into the match. In the 94th minute, Eusebiu Cimpoi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Colombia walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
