After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Agustín Saelices fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Hugo Rodrigues quite easily take care of the ball. In the 50th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Meninos De Cotia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Meninos De Cotia's Hugo Rodrigues did a great save. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Ramon Del Piero was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After some fancy dribbling in the 99th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hugo Rodrigues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
