After 16 played minutes Laus Deo got a freekick which was hit by Gildo Tande. Arsenio Manni stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jaime Pardo's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. Kong Ping received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Jacobo Nores tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jacobo Nores made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Alberto Moura in the 21st minute of play. Jacobo Nores stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luis Alberto Moura's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. The supporters of Laus Deo booed when Paraguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 35th minute Timur Belyaninov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luis Alberto Moura's late challenge caught a Paraguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jaime Pardo to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes Paraguay's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Timur Belyaninov who took care of the corner kick. Laus Deo's Timur Belyaninov was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jacobo Nores in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Cacá Diniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute, Cacá Diniz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Ivan Prats got a free kick in the 61st minute. When Gildo Tande came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Laus Deo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gildo Tande couldn't finish the play. Laus Deo's Arsenio Manni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Pardo in the 87th minute of play. If Jaime Pardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute of the match Raul Venegas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arsenio Manni showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Laus Deo had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
