The audience thought a goal was coming when Witold Ciempa got free with Marco Day in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jeremias Cruz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Roman Chucho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cremonese's supporters rose to their feet, but Roman Chucho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Day breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Monty Rogers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Jeremias Cruz made a huge save. Cassius Byrne who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 74thth minute tested the skills of Jeremias Cruz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 77th minute, Zach Harrison hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. USA's Marco Baker was substituted for Edward Mcdonald. USA made a substitution. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jaime Porfiro's late challenge caught a USA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jaime Porfiro helped the player get up and apologised. Jaime Porfiro hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match.
