The team pollen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cheng Qiang should have stopped the shot. In the 20th minute, Rafa Figueiredo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cheng Qiang didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. With a little luck, team pollen's Cheng Qiang got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. The corner led Ecuador's Agustín Saelices to fire away a dangerous shot which Cheng Qiang despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anselmo Jaen in the 27th minute of play. With a little luck, team pollen's Cheng Qiang got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. 39 minutes into the game, team pollen's Fredrik Aalvik nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simen Figenschou, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The supporters of Ecuador booed when team pollen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leon Bakkelund didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Fredrik Aalvik tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ali Nejat Özsungur could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. In the 58th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 63 minutes, the score became 4-3 when Ali Nejat Özsungur sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Cristian Sancho put it in 5-3 from a short distance just to the right of Cheng Qiang. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cheng Qiang breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cheng Qiang having to make a save. Cheng Qiang showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 88th minute of the match. After 91 played minutes team pollen got a freekick which was hit by Leon Bakkelund. Cheng Qiang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 92nd minute of play. Ecuador's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
