The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 played minutes Tajfun got a freekick which was hit by Boruc Ryback. If Tadeusz Skirzynski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 20th minute of play forced Tajfun's goalkeeper Piotr Wyrzykowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tajfun the free kick. In the 41st minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Witold Wnukowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. Piotr Wyrzykowski made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. In the 74th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Piotr Wyrzykowski made a huge save. Boruc Ryback received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 81 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Piotr Wyrzykowski. Tajfun's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Illescas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boruc Ryback in the 84th minute of play. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Tajfun's Mariusz Czeszejko got a free kick in the 91st minute. Tomas Illescas didn't quite understand what happened when in the 93 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. The Tajfun supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Venezuela's performance. The match ended with a win for Venezuela.
