Thorsten Ternes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 11th minute of the match. International Thunders's Thorsten Ternes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 13th minute of play. Luca Rouco hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. 17 minutes into the match, International Thunders's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Zorita came free, but Thorsten Ternes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rodrigo Ferdinand. 21 minutes into the match, International Thunders's goal looked a bit too open when Facundo Cadaval came free, but Thorsten Ternes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Rodrigo Ferdinand tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rodrigo Ferdinand recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 30th minute of play forced International Thunders's goalkeeper Thorsten Ternes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodrigo Ferdinand could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after International Thunders's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. Mexico's Joel Gaona was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Thorsten Ternes in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 39 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tibor Bäuschlein. Thorsten Ternes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rodrigo Ferdinand was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Loukianos Staikos in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. 60 minutes into the game, International Thunders's Rodrigo Ferdinand nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Raimundas Baleika kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, International Thunders's Tibor Bäuschlein got a free kick in the 64th minute. Thorsten Ternes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 67th minute of play. When Lautaro Mancebo came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lautaro Mancebo couldn't finish the play. 70 minutes into the match, Rodrigo Ferdinand had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rodrigo Ferdinand was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodrigo Ferdinand in the 73rd minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, International Thunders's goalkeeper Thorsten Ternes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. Alberto Tafalla hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. If Loukianos Staikos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Gaona in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thorsten Ternes saved International Thunders from getting behind. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Loukianos Staikos in the 90th minute of play. The supporters of International Thunders booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Tafalla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo Ferdinand, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Mexico's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
