With a little luck, CERRO PORTEÑO's Cãlin Damaschin got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 7th minute, Lautaro Mancebo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cãlin Damaschin. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 18th minute, Moreno Martins left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CERRO PORTEÑO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 21st minute of the match, Joel Gaona tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Cãlin Damaschin saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moreno Martins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Lautaro Mancebo took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Cãlin Damaschin to make any attempt to save it. Luca Rouco hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Lautaro Mancebo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cãlin Damaschin having to make a save. Cãlin Damaschin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Zorita in the 38th minute of the match. Luca Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Cãlin Damaschin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis in the 43rd minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. 王树帆 was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Moreno Martins. Luca Rouco hit a great ball. 60 minutes into the match, CERRO PORTEÑO's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Cãlin Damaschin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 62 minutes had been played when some careless play by CERRO PORTEÑO's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. CERRO PORTEÑO's 任棋振 was substituted for Moreno Martins. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 70th minute of play forced CERRO PORTEÑO's goalkeeper Cãlin Damaschin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Cãlin Damaschin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A nice corner shot did that Joel Gaona got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Cãlin Damaschin quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis sent off a good shot on target. Joel Gaona charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joel Gaona the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 82 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Joel Gaona. 任棋振 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. After some careless play in the CERRO PORTEÑO defense, Luca Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cãlin Damaschin. The CERRO PORTEÑO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cãlin Damaschin should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Gaona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cãlin Damaschin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. CERRO PORTEÑO's 任棋振 got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Mexico had won after a very even match.
